MIBE Students Open the Culture Burnley Awards 2026

 news / blog post

We were delighted to be part of the Culture Burnley Awards 2026, an evening celebrating the artists, organisations and creative projects helping Burnley’s cultural community continue to thrive.

The awards recognise individuals and organisations making a meaningful contribution to arts and culture across the borough and form part of Burnley’s wider cultural programme as the town prepares for its Year of Culture in 2027.

As a proud part of the Burnley community, it was important for us to be involved in the event and to be recognised alongside so many inspiring local organisations and individuals.

Opening the Evening with Swan Lake

Our students had the honour of opening the event with scenes from Swan Lake.

They performed beautifully and we were incredibly proud of the way they represented Mentors in Ballet Education.

Nurturing Creativity Award

We were also very proud to be nominated for the Nurturing Creativity Award, which celebrates organisations and individuals who inspire others to develop their creative potential.

To be recognised alongside so many outstanding local organisations was a real honour and a reflection of the dedication of our students, families and teaching team.

Thank you to out students, organisers & alumni

It was great to see so many people recognised for the work they do to support arts and culture in our town. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners. Thank you to the organisers and staff for making the evening such a memorable occasion.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Alumni Josh Webb and Hannah Shutt, who returned to help us create such a wonderful performance.

We are incredibly proud of all the students who performed.
