An exciting day for our students as we light and prepare the show. It’s a really important part of their development as they understand the bigger picture as to how performances come together.
We’re very excited to watch the Mentors in Ballet Education students perform as show week arrives. From Aurora’s Birthday Party to Underground madness and from graceful Swans to Blackpool beach. It’s a fun a varied show with an energetic climax bringing students from across our courses together. To all our wonderful students, have fun and enjoy every minute!🩰🩵💛💜🩷🩰

Today’s Wednesday Wisdom was imparted by the wonderful Gillian Hurst, who coached students on their variations for the Summer Show. We are grateful for the meticulous detail on both technique and artistry that Miss Hurst generously gifted.

Another wonderful day with our Enhancement students. Whether a part of an intensive training package or an enhancement to other weekly classes, our much sort after methods are packed full of technical development and fun. The students worked very hard today on the pieces for our end of year performance.🩵💛💜🩷
🩵💛Our Flexi Course means that young aspiring dancers get to train intensively on specific days and choose the best plan for their personal journey. Today they’re developing strength, technique and learning repertoire.💜🩷

Mental health can be a real challenge to manage as we journey through our lives. There can be so many highlights and joyous times, but the path can vary and the hard times can feel so full of despair.
Lancashire Mind is celebrating its 25th anniversary of all the support and care it has been able to provide. Our Director Simon J Kidd is going to run 25km to support the charity.
“Running has certainly benefited my mental health in many difficult times and my children have brought me so much joy throughout our years together. This led me to choose Father’s day to take on the 25km with the support of the wonderful Leah, Joel, Ethan, Amelie and their partners along the way.
I will run for everyone, but with Father’s especially in mind on this day. Whether it be those who have struggled personally with Mental health or those who have faced the traumatic effects of people who have struggled around them.”
Any kind messages of support and generous donations will be greatly appreciated and drive our minds to continue pushing the body to run when the challenge becomes hard.

Thank you to Culture Burnley for sharing this footage of our talented students performing at the culture awards ceremony, we all enjoyed every minute! Students of Lynsey and Simon Kidd can be seen performing worldwide and it is a testament to the respect and friendships formed that they often return to inspire and support the development of the current Mentors in Ballet Education students. We are all very excited for the collaborations and opportunities that will see the town develop its cultural identity even further and the possibilities that intern brings to our developing students and their appreciative audiences.
Well done to Graduate student Momoka who performed beautifully at the Cecchetti Society, “Studio to Stage” performance held at The Royal Ballet School today. We are extremely proud of all her many great achievements, which include successfully auditioning for a converted place on the esteemed English National Ballet School graduate programme. There will be opportunity to see Momoka perform alongside all the Mentors in Ballet Education students in our Summer Performance in July. Details of the event will be announced soon…👏👏👏
What a pleasure it was to join in the celebrations of Burnley’s clearly thriving cultural community. Our students opened the event beautifully with strength and grace in some scenes from Swan Lake. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners of awards and we are proud of our friends Basics Junior Theatre School who received the Nurturing Creativity Award, offering over 40 years of opportunity to aspiring young performers. Thank you to all the organisers and staff who made it such a memorable evening and our heartfelt gratitude goes to Josh Webb and @hannah.shutt who returned to help us create such a wonderful performance.👏👏👏
We have an exciting week ahead, as not only are we thankful to be nominated for a Nurturing Creativity Award, we also eagerly anticipate our talented students performing and opening the celebrations at the Burnley Mechanics Theatre. Alongside current MIBE full time students, we are thrilled to welcome alumni Hannah Shutt and Josh Webb to also perform alongside. This will be a wonderful performance opportunity for our students to further develop their craft and a rewarding experience, to learn from those who have lived the journey to a career as professional dancers.
We look forward to welcoming all who have applied and are joining our fun and friendly audition this Sunday 22nd of March. Applications are still open and will close at midnight on Monday 16th March.
