Yes. At Mentors in Ballet Education (MIBE), performance is at the heart of our training. To allow young dancers to experience the excitement of the stage, we run The Embrace Ballet Company, a youth ballet company designed for dancers aged 8–18.
Embrace provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where young people can take part in the full process of creating and performing a ballet. This includes learning choreography, rehearsing as part of a company, and presenting a production in a professional theatre. For many students, it is their first chance to step into a professional-style setting and discover what it feels like to be part of a ballet company.
What is the Embrace Ballet Company?
The company runs in two seasons each year. Each season is made up of 10 weeks of Sunday rehearsals, where students work with experienced ballet teachers and choreographers. These rehearsals focus not only on developing technical ability but also on building artistry, musicality, and teamwork.
At the end of the season, the company presents a full-length ballet production in a theatre. Performing in front of a live audience gives dancers invaluable stage experience and the chance to showcase their progress in a supportive and celebratory atmosphere.
Who Can Join?
Participation in Embrace is by audition. We welcome dancers aged 8–18 who are passionate about ballet and eager to perform, whether they are pursuing vocational training or dancing alongside their regular studies. Commitment, enthusiasm, and a love of performance are just as important as technical ability.
Why Join Embrace?
Through Embrace, MIBE delivers high-quality ballet productions, giving young dancers a platform to develop their skills and share their passion with audiences. It is a rare and exciting opportunity to train, perform, and grow within a company environment.
