A Celebration of Excellence in Dance
Recently, we held our Gala Performance at Burnley College and what a great evening it was. Families, staff, alumni and supporters gathered to celebrate the exceptional talent and dedication of our Elite and Enhancement programmes students, and the stage was filled with energy, talent, and passion.
Rehearsals
In the lead-up to the performance, rehearsals were busy and full-on. Students balanced regular training with preparing for the show, working closely with staff and guest artists. The atmosphere was supportive and focused, and that hard work paid off on the night.
The Programme
The programme featured a selection of pieces from some of ballet’s most beloved classics, including Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, and Swan Lake. Each performance reflected the students’ achievements throughout their time with MIBE, with every students making us proud with their beautiful performances.
Special Guests
We were especially proud to welcome back MIBE alumni Joshua Fickling, whose powerful performance added something special to the evening. His presence was both exciting for the audience and inspiring for our current dancers. We’re also hugely grateful to Niamh Alvey, another MIBE graduate, for her behind-the-scenes support in helping bring the gala together. Her continued involvement in MIBE as part of our ballet faculty means so much to us.
Thank You
Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible work of our teaching team. A big thank you to our head of teacher training, Gillian Hurst, for her exceptional tuition and support of our students throughout the year. We’d also like to thank Jonnie Gait for his beautiful accompaniment during ballet classes.
The night was a celebration of all that our students have accomplished and an insight into what’s still to come. We look forward to September and the possibility of all that can be achieved with the hard work and determination to succeed in our beautiful art form.
Well done to everyone involved, you’ve made us very proud!
