Join us for an inspiring and immersive week of dance at our Summer Ballet School. Designed for students aged 7-17, this special programme offers a blend of technical training, creativity and performance in a warm, supportive environment.
A Week Immersed in Classical Ballet
This year’s summer school celebrates the joyful and much-loved classical ballet La fille mal gardée, exploring the timeless choreography and storytelling of Frederick Ashton. Throughout the week, students will deepen their understanding of classical ballet while discovering what brings this work to life on stage.
The location
Classes will take place in the beautiful, state-of-the-art studios at Burnley College, as well as our welcoming home base at Queens Mill. These professional spaces provide the perfect setting for focused training, creativity and collaboration
What You’ll Experience
- Classical Ballet Technique – refine alignment, strength, artistry, and musicality
- Creative Choreography – explore movement creation and expressive dance
- Character & Storytelling – bring roles to life through acting and mime
- Costume Design Exploration – experiment with ideas that enhance character and performance
Wrapping up the week
The week will culminate in a special sharing session on Saturday, where students will present selected work to family and friends. This relaxed, celebratory performance allows dancers to showcase their progress and experience the joy of performing in a supportive setting.

Our course is designed to nurture young dancers by combining technical training with creative exploration. Participants will not only enhance their ballet skills but also gain insights into the storytelling and production elements that make ballet a captivating art form.
Accommodation: This is a non-residential course; however, we are happy to help in arranging accommodation with our friendly private host families, offering a comfortable and welcoming home-from-home experience.
